German toys museum
The museum was originally founded as the Meiningen Oberland Museum of Trade and Industry in 1901 on the initiative of Paul Kuntze (1867–1953), a local teacher. Among the most valuable exhibits in the collection are Sonneberg wooden toys, papier mâché figures, dolls from Sonneberg and Thuringia, playthings from East Asia, and toys from ancient Egypt and Greece.

The Bog of Sacrifice of Vogtei

All around an unique mountain railway
Starting from Rottenbach in the south of Thuringia, close to Bad Blankenburg, the Schwarzatal-railway leaves the Rinne valley and enters the valley of the Schwarza river. Alongside the Schwarza the railway passes Schwarzburg and ends in Katzhütte. In the middle of the route the train stops at Obstfelderschmiede, the valley station of the funicular railway „Oberweissbacher Bergbahn“. Obstfelderschmiede is a part of the village Mellenbach-Glasbach.
